CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Former mayor of Mason and state lawmaker Pete Beck was found guilty Tuesday on 13 criminal charges related to perjury, theft and fraudulent sale of security.

He faces nearly 50 years in prison when he is sentenced Aug. 20. Until that time, he will remain free on his own recognizance.

Beck, who showed little emotion, was found not guilty on another 25 charges.

Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge John Andrew West announced the verdict at 10 a.m. following a 10-week, securities fraud bench trial.

Beck is accused of using his stature as a CPA and state lawmaker to lure investors to a failing technology company.

"Justice was served," said Tom Walters, a victim who lost money on their investments. "I mean, the judge listened to 10 weeks of testimony and I think his ruling was very, very fair."

Beck ignored reporters' questions as he left the courthouse.
