Thousands of Duke Energy customers were without power in and around the University of Cincinnati and nearby hospitals Wednesday.
Power was restored at around 5:45 p.m. Over 5,000 were without power.
Duke says the problem was started by a fire at the Glendora Avenue substation.
The University of Cincinnati Medical Center was not affected and was operating under normal conditions, according to UC Health's twitter account. Patients with appointments this afternoon are asked to call their provider before arriving.
The Cincinnati Zoo was without power for some time because of the outage.
