CINCINNATI (FOX19) -

The Ohio Department of Transportation will most likely not pursue relocating State Route 32 as part of the Eastern Corridor Project, according to county leaders.

The project would have shifted the end of the roadway from its current location at Beechmont Avenue in Anderson Township to a direct connection with Columbia Parkway in the Fairfax and Red Bank business corridor.

Several community leaders and groups spoke out against the relocation project as it would have disturbed natural environments and resources.

ODOT is considering other alternatives for State Route 32, according to a press release from Hamilton County Commissioner Chris Monzel.

The Eastern Corridor Project is a series of transportation improvements planned to connect central Cincinnati and the communities to the east, heading through Hamilton County into Clermont County.
