Police shoot, kill pit bull about to attack officer

FAIRVIEW, OH (FOX19) -

A Cincinnati police officer shot and killed a pit bull about to attack him late Thursday.

Officers responded to an 11:20 p.m. report of pit bulls fighting in the hallway of an apartment on West McMicken Avenue, said Lt. Tim Brown, the night chief.

When they arrived, they found two dogs fighting each other.

The more aggressive of the the animals stopped, but the other pit bull came at an officer in full attack mode.

To stop the threat, the officer shot and killed the dog.

SPCA Cincinnati responded, took the other pit bull and is investigating.
