Shoot-out Near University of Cincinnati

One man is in the hospital, and police are looking for a suspect after a shootout near the University of Cincinnati. Witnesses tell police both men shot at each other, but police do not know who started the shooting or why. Police believe the men knew each other.

It happened Wednesday night near the corner of Vine and East Correy, in a walkway between Vine Street and the Van Street parking lot. One of the witnesses found a gun in that area and turned it over to police. Witnesses also told police they heard 5 or 6 gunshots.

The victim was shot twice - once in the hip, and once inthe buttocks. He drove himself to a hospital, where police caught up with him. Doctors say his injuries are not life-threatening.

Police do not believe any U.C. students were hurt in the incident. Police have surveillance video to help them with their search. Cameras are posted throughout that area. One of the cameras may have caught the shooters in the act.
