TRENTON, OH (FOX19) -

A sewer line collapsed in front of a Butler County fire station early Thursday and shut down South Miami Street between Riverside and Main.

The incident was initially reported as a sinkhole, but crews later determined that a faulty sewer line caused the pavement to cave in.

The 3-foot-wide by 6-foot-deep hole is not preventing fire trucks from pulling out to respond to calls, a police dispatcher said.

Crews are working to repair the line and have not said when the roadway will reopen.
