HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -

A marijuana grow operation was discovered while Hamilton firefighters were putting out a fire Thursday.

Crews were dispatched at approximately noon on North B Street near Wayne Avenue.

While fire officials were putting out the fire they discovered the marijuana grow operation in one of the apartments, authorities say.

Police arrested Christopher S. Cartwright after detectives secured and executed a warrant in which approximately nine plants, digital scales, heat lamps and paraphernalia were found.  He was charged with illegal manufacture of drugs or cultivation of marijuana, drug abuse and drug paraphernalia.

Authorities say the marijuana grow was not the cause of the fire.
