MT. HEALTHY, OH (FOX19) -

Police arrested a Mt. Healthy suspect who allegedly attempted to abduct, mutilate and kill his ex-girlfriend.

Vencente Howard, 49, was arrested after he reportedly forced his way into his ex-girlfriend's car on the lot of Hilltop Plaza on Hamilton Avenue at approximately 4 p.m. Friday in Mt. Healthy. Howard then allegedly placed a handgun in the victim's gut and forced her to drive to a house in Woodlawn.

Howard told the victim during the drive that he was going to make history by cutting off her fingers, prior to killing her. He also said that he was going to commit suicide after he killed her, according to a release .

After they arrived in Woodlawn, Howard became distracted and the victim freed herself and ran.  Howard then chased after the victim until a female Good Samaritan gave the female victim a ride to a nearby place station, officials say.

Howard was arrested at around 9:50 p.m. after police had put out a notice for his arrest.

No word on what charges he will face.
