NORTH COLLEGE HILL, OH (FOX19) - Police in North College Hill are investigating what they now believe to be a false report of a child abduction.

Authorities were called to a home on Centerridge at La Boiteaux avenues around 2 a.m. Saturday. Dispatchers advised the 911 caller was in distress and could not communicate.

Upon arrival, officers found the back door ajar and window broken. Inside, a young woman who appeared to be intoxicated told police two children in her care were missing. Officers found what they believe to be a blood trail leaving the home.

After hours of investigation, police located the children who were in the care of their father. It was determined an altercation occurred between the 911 caller and the father who later left with his children. The father told police he broke the window and the blood trail came from him. He voluntarily came to the police station with his children to clear up the false report.

So far, no charges have been filed but police say the incident is still under investigation.
