MADISONVILLE, OH (FOX19) -

A child and three other people were taken to hospitals after a cutting attack Tuesday morning, Cincinnati police said.

Issac Hoyt cut his 8-year-old nephew and two other relatives during a dispute in an apartment building on Chippewa Street near Roe Street about 9:45 a.m., police said.

According to an incident report, the man attacked the two adult victims after they attempted to stop him from stabbing the child with a steak knife.

Hoyt is considered mentally disabled. He is being held in jail on a $300 thousand bond.

Initial dispatches indicated the child was stabbed in the chest, but when police arrived they said they found him with a cut on the arm.

The cuts are considered non-life threatening, with all victims expected to recover.
