Frazier homers twice, Reds defeat Tigers 5-2

FOX19 -

The Reds used two Todd Frazier home runs to power past the Detroit Tigers, 5-2 on Tuesday night.

Rookie starter, Michael Lorenzen, went six strong innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits.

Detroit did strike early. In the first inning Miguel Cabrera singled to right field, scoring Anthony Gose.

The Reds bats were silent until the fifth. Frazier hit his first homer of the night to center field, and Jay Bruce made it back-to-back sneaking the ball just fair down the line in right.

Yoenis Cespedes tied the game in the bottom of the inning with a RBI-single.

Frazier answered in the seventh with his second blast of the night and 20th of the year. The Reds' stretched the lead to 5-2 on a pair of Billy Hamilton RBIs.

The Tigers and Reds move to Great American Ball Park Wednesday night for a showdown of aces. It will be Johnny Cueto facing David Price at 7:10 p.m.
