Compromise in Cincinnati budget dispute?

A compromise could be looming in Cincinnati's budget dispute.

Mayor John Cranley, Vice Mayor David Mann and some city council members are expected to provide a "budget update" at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday.

The press conference will be held just before a noon City Council budget meeting.

The potential compromise comes one day after City Manager Harry Black announced the All-Star Game in July would be impacted if Council fails to pass a budget by month's end.

And, earlier this week, Cranley said he would not support spending for non-essential items like new bike lanes and bus shelters and a grocery store for Clifton when the city has more immediate needs such as streets to repair and police cruisers to replace.
