Paddlefest organizers cited safety concerns from the heavy downpours and called the decision to postpone a “tough call.”
Hundreds of people cruise down an 8.2-mile stretch of the Ohio River in kayaks and canoes during the annual event.
The event is rescheduled for August 2.
The Roots on the River Music & Outdoor Festival at Coney Island on Friday is still scheduled.
But Slide the City also postponed due to the rain.
"We are currently working with the city to reschedule the event," Slide the City's Facebook page reads, "and will communicate the new date with you as soon as something is scheduled."
