AVONDALE, OH (FOX19) - A 30-year-old man accused of impeding a police investigation, prompting a SWAT team to respond, is scheduled to face a Hamilton County judge Friday on several charges.

Antonio Thompson refused to open the door to his Reading Road apartment for just over an hour early Thursday when police responded to a report of a shooting in his apartment, court records show.

That delayed the shooting investigation and required police to summon a SWAT team to surround the building in anticipation for a possible lengthy standoff.

Thompson was taken into custody without further incident by 5 a.m.

Police determined the shooting report was a hoax.

But once they entered his apartment, they realized why Thompson may have been so reluctant to open up.

Court records show they found large quantities of heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine and hyrocodone.

Authorities also seized a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun stolen in a Cheviot burglary.

Thompson is held on several charges including trafficking in drugs, possession of drugs, receiving stolen property and obstructing official business.
