An overwhelming amount of community support continues for the family of fallen Cincinnati Police Officer Sonny Kim.

A fund set up to help his wife and three teenage sons as they cope with the tragic loss stands at $176,053. It surpassed its $100,000 goal in just three days after being established last weekend.

University of Cincinnati President Santa J. Ono also has announced the university would educate Kim's sons for free.

"As a small token of gratitude to Officer Sonny Kim, UC will cover full undergraduate tuition for his 3 sons should they matriculate at UC," Ono tweeted Monday.

The Go Fund Me page was set up by Officer Derek Bauman, President of the Mason Police Association.

“This fund has been set up to help the family through this difficult time with any expenses that they may have or as a college fund for the three Kim boys,” the page states.

Funeral and visitation services for Kim have yet to be finalized, according to Kathy Harrell with the Fraternal Order of Police.
