HANOVER TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

AirCare responded to a crash involving a Butler County sheriff's cruiser and a motorcycle late Sunday.

The motorcyclist, 45, of Oxford, was flown to University of Cincinnati Medical Center shortly after crews responded to U.S. 27 at Stephenson Road, according to the Butler County Sheriff's Office.

He is expected to recover and was conscious at the scene, said Deputy Brian Bussell.

It appears the motorcyclist crossed the center lane while trying to pass another vehicle and slammed into the cruiser's passenger side door, he said.

The deputy, 26, was not hurt.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

It does not appear alcohol and drugs are factors, Bussell said.
