Suspect apprehended after chase on I-275, 471


A man is in custody after leading police over state lines during a chase Monday afternoon.

Deputies from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office pursued a Nissan Sentra that was reported stolen out of Shelby County, Kentucky.

The chase began southbound on I-275 across the Combs-Heil Bridge, according to the City of Southgate Police Department. The suspect, Parish Antonio Baker from Cincinnati, led pursuing officers onto northbound I-471.

Southgate, Fort Thomas and Newport police units were able to apprehend the suspect just before the Daniel Beard Bridge.

Baker, 23, is currently being held in Campbell County jail, facing four felony counts including: receiving stolen property, fleeing, wanton endangerment and importing controlled substance (heroin).
