Covington woman faces arson charges after fire destroys home

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

A Covington woman was arrested charged with arson after a residence caught fire Wednesday afternoon.

Covington fire and police officials responded to the 1500 block of Greenup near East 15th streets for a fully engulfed structure fire at around 3:16 p.m.

Officials say the residence was destroyed and adjacent property was damaged. 

Shawna Devenny was arrested and booked into the Kenton County Detention Center after an investigation.  She was charged with second degree arson.

Devenny is being held on a $20,000 bond and is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

Officials are still investigating the fire.
