Cincinnati suburb's postmark coveted around Valentine's Day
The post office in Loveland has been a busy place lately. The Cincinnati suburb gets thousands of cards each year to be hand-canceled with the Loveland postmark. The office usually processes about three-thousand cards in the weeks leading up to Valentine's Day. It's also a popular postmark for wedding invitations.
Loveland also elects a Valentine Lady each year. Chamber of Commerce director Paulette Leeper says the nominees are usually older women who are active in the community. She says some of the candidates campaign hard for the job, which includes appearances at schools, nursing homes and other community events to talk about the importance of Valentine's Day.
