CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
Cincinnati's much-ballyhooed 90-day summer safety plan will be phased in this week, Chief Jeffrey Blackwell announced Monday.
All aspects of the plan will be phased in except extra police patrols, he said.
That patrol plan is to change all of the districts to a "two, off-day option" and not a "three. off-day option." He said they do plan on implementing it at some point, but he would not give a specific date.
Officials will begin to place officers in parks and enforcing the curfew.
The June 19 in-the-line-of-duty death of Officer Sonny Kim postponed the plan, one that drew criticism from the police union president.
It includes scheduling changes, more cops on the streets and curfews, among other ideas.
