CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

The Cincinnati Police Department has announced a new way for the public to file certain incident types online.

The new online police reporting option allows the public to report property damage (accidental and intentional), lost property, vehicle burglary, lost property, petty theft and harassing phone calls.  The service will allow the public to file a report at a time most convenient to them and having to not wait for an officer to respond or call them back.

The new system will allow officers more time to address community needs while keeping pace with the public expectancy to complete the services from the internet. according to Cincinnati Police.

“This enhanced use of technology will further our service delivery to our citizens who expect high level of service from our officers,” said Cincinnati Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell. “It allows more time addressing community concerns and time to engage with citizens all while improving the quality of life in neighborhoods.”

Cincinnati Police say to date, citizens have filed over 500 reports saving the Cincinnati Police Department over 350 man hours.
