BOONE COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -

A Boone County man has been charged with murder nearly one month after his girlfriend’s unexplained death.

Daniel Vetter, 33, told 911 dispatchers that Meranda Hobbs, 27, was unconscious at the couple’s Turner Drive residence.

"She banged her head against the window and is now unresponsive. I've been trying to get her to come around for a couple of minutes,” Said Vetter in the 911 call on June 4. Vetter told the dispatcher that he was outside on the phone with his mother when he saw Hobbs hitting her head.

Responding patrol deputies detected “unusual circumstances involving the incident,” according to Major Tom Scheben.

On Wednesday, detectives served an arrest warrant to Daniel Vetter at the Kenton County Detention Center, where he is serving a 30-day sentence for a DUI conviction.

He is charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence and falsely reporting an incident.
