COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - Covington is celebrating its bicentennial and 4th of July with an annual parade.
A few hundred people showed up for the parade that has been going on for almost 50 years.
Organizations and individuals from all of Covington's 19 neighborhood participated in the event.
The Covington Neighborhoods' Bicentennial Independence Day Parade kicked off at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
This has become a family event for many of Covington's residents.
Denise Lucas said she can remember coming to this parade for many years and it brings back memories.
"Covington celebrated being 150-years-old, and I was a doll baby then," said Lucas. "I was in a beautiful dress and a bonnet and everything."
This event has been a way for the city to come together and celebrate its community.
