Fleeing suspect hit by car, seriously hurt in I-75

FRANKLIN, OH (FOX19) - A suspect is in serious condition at a local hospital after he was hit by a car while fleeing police police on northbound Interstate 75 Monday.

The incident began when a Franklin police officer tried to stop the suspect for a traffic violation in this Warren County community's downtown district.

The suspect. 21, drove away from the officer, according to the Franklin County Police Department.

The pursuit went from Ohio 123 onto the highway.

As the suspect entered I-75, his Nissan Altima sideswiped two vehicles, officials said.

The man eventually crashed his car on I-75. He tried to run off, but that's when officers say he was struck as he tried to cross the highway.

Investigators said they found suspected heroin inside the Altima.

The man was taken to Kettering Hospital in serious condition. His name and charges were not released.
