SOUTH FAIRMONT, OH (FOX19) - A report from the Hamilton County Coroner's Office indicates a 57-year-old man killed his 87-year-old father and then turned the gun on himself in an apparent murder suicide.

The death of Harvey Rose, 57, was ruled an apparent suicide, and the death of his father, Edward Rose, is an apparent homicide.

A relative found the men's bodies inside a Fairmount Avenue home about 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Cincinnati police homicide investigators said both men suffered gunshot wounds.

District 5 Captain Dan Gerard told reporters at the scene the situation appeared to be a murder-suicide that remains under investigation.

"We are not actively looking for any suspects at this time. There was no threat to the neighborhood then and there is no threat to the neighborhood now," he said.
