CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - When it's all said and done the city of Cincinnati will have spent nearly $870,000 on the All Star Game. City council in their most recent budget appropriated $750,000.
The majority of the money will go towards police overtime according to budget documents given to Fox 19 Now. The fire department will get $153,187 with some of that money going to things like the staffing at the Celebrity Game, Fan Fest, Home Run Derby and the red carpet among others.
The document shows the Parks Department will be receiving $48,000 dollars for Smale/Moerlein Flower pots. It also shows $15,000 spent on Smale Floral Carpet.
Painting the black poles black on 2nd street costs in the neighborhood of $10,000 dollars. Even the U.S. Bank Arena will be getting a power wash. That's expected to cost around $2500 dollars.
The 2015 All Star Game summary list by department goes as follows: Fire $153,187, Parks $132,480, Health $33,811, Public Services 151,301, and Police $500,000. The amount of money expected to be generated for the entire area is around $60 million dollars.
