CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Major League Baseball announced the Home Run Derby field on Wednesday with the Reds' Todd Frazier included in the field as the second highest seed under the new Derby rules. As the two-seed, Frazier will face off against seventh-seeded Prince Fielder of the Texas Rangers.
The Angels' Albert Pujols earned the top overall seed and will take on the Cubs rookie Kris Bryant. The rest of the first round matchups include Joc Pederson of the Dodgers against Manny Machado of the Orioles and the Cubs' Anthony Rizzo taking on Toronto's Josh Donaldson. Machado, Pederson, Bryant and Rizzo are all making their derby debuts.
Frazier, who is tied for third in the majors with 25 homers, finished runner-up in his first career home run derby last year. Frazier's opponent, Fielder, is making his sixth career derby appearance and has won the event two times.
