The man dubbed the "Sock Hat Bandit" was federally indicted Thursday after he allegedly committed a series of crimes over a two month period in three states.
Brian M. Parnell, 32, of Dayton, is blamed for at least nine bank robberies across Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana in the two month period.
He was indicted on three counts of bank robbery for the series of robberies in Kentucky. He is accused of robbing the Hebron U.S. Bank on May 22, the Bellevue Fifth Third Bank on June 1 and the Independence Fifth Third on June 18. The FBI additionally obtained probable cause to federally indict Parnell in those bank robberies.
Parnell was arrested by Covington Police after trying to elude police following the bank robbery at the Independence Fifth Third Bank.
According to the FBI Covington Resident Agency, they will continue to coordinate with our regional offices in Indianapolis and Cincinnati to determine if Parnell is responsible for any additional bank robberies in the Tri-State area.
