A father is accused of abusing his 3-month-old infant and then failing to get the baby medical care.

Derrelle Hobbs, 26, is held in lieu of $200,000 bond at the Hamilton County jail on charges of felonious assault and child endangering.

He was arrested Wednesday at Cincinnati Police Criminal Investigation Section on Broadway Street Downtown.

Staff at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center alerted police when the baby came in for medical care on July 3.

Police say the baby was abused that afternoon while in Hobbs' care at the family's apartment on West North Bend Road near Colerain Avenue.

The extent of the infant's injuries were not immediately available.

A bench warrant also has been out for Hobbs since May 6 on a 2013 possession of drug charge, court records show.
