Police: Drunk driver caused crash that hurt woman

SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

A motorist is accused of being drunk and causing an accident that seriously hurt a woman.

Kelly Piening, 35, of Montgomery, blew 0.198 on a breath test to measure her level of intoxication after the Tuesday night crash on Montgomery Road at Kenwood Road, according to Hamilton County court records.

That is more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 to drive a car in the state of Ohio.

The crash left Margaret A. Connelly with a broken vertebrae and spinal displacement, records state.

Piening is held at the Hamilton County jail on charges of aggravated vehicular assault, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and failure to maintain an assured clear distance.

Her bond was set at $27,000 Thursday morning.
