Eighth Street is about to reopen at Dalton Avenue after a chemical spill scare.
Police responded to an 8:30 a.m. report of a white powdery substance leaking from a CSX train rail car. A Hazmat crew also was called.
The situation quickly de-escalated, however, when CSX officials said the rail car was just carrying rock salt.
