One house total loss, second suffers significant damage in Verona fire

VERONA, KY (FOX19) -

Crews are on scene for two serious house fires in Verona, Kentucky Sunday morning. 

Firefighters were called to the 15,000 block of Lebanon-Crittendon Road just before 4:00 a.m. for two houses engulfed in flames.

According to the Verona Fire Department, the fire began on the outside of the first house and spread to the attic and a neighboring house. The first house is considered a total loss and the second home suffered significant damage, according to the Verona Fire Chief David Jones.

Two families, a total of seven people, have been displaced. 

Investigators have not released a cause or estimated cost of the blaze. 

FOX19 NOW is at the scene and will have a live report beginning at 8:00 a.m.
