ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Crews rescued two boaters from the Little Miami River overnight.
A father, 50, and son, 14 who live off Mt. Carmel Road took a canoe out on the river about 8:30 p.m. Sunday night, but their vessel capsized when they hit a floating tree or log a few hours later, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
Both men held onto the tree or log and yelled for help, said Sgt. Andrew Guy. A citizen heard and called 911 at 11:45 p.m.
Four fire departments responded: Cincinnati, Anderson Township, Loveland-Symmes and Little Miami.
"Between all of them, they put three boats in the water and located them and took them to shore," Guy said.
Two rescue boats were put in the water. Both men were rescued by 2 a.m
They were checked out on shore by medics, released by 2 a.m. and drove home.
