AVONDALE, OH (FOX19) - Two suspicious house fires broke out on the same block overnight, Cincinnati fire officials said.
The blazes are the second and third suspicious ones that occurred in the neighborhood in 12 hours, prompting authorities to suspect a serial arsonist is at large.
All of the homes were vacant and at least two sustained heavy damage. No one was hurt.
Fire crews responded when flames tore through the first story of a residence on Hartford Street about 1 a.m. Friday.
They knocked the bulk of the fire down in about 15 minutes.
Damage was set at $40,000.
While crews were at that scene, a second fire erupted a block away on Blair Court.
Companies that could be spared were released to respond.
Flames tore through the roof, and the back of the house collapsed. Crews had it under control in about 30 minutes.
Damage was set at $5,000.
