The man Memphis Police Department believes to be responsible for the shooting death of MPD Officer Sean Bolton is in custody.
The Shelby County Sheriff's Office confirmed the arrest Monday afternoon.
The reward for information leading to the capture of 29-year-old Tremaine Wilbourn increased from $10,000 to nearly $50,000 on Monday. He was also added to Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Top 10 Most Wanted list.
Wilbourn has been on the run since Saturday when Officer Bolton was shot multiple times during a traffic stop in Memphis. The driver of the vehicle turned himself into police and was later released. That is when MPD identified Wilbourn as the shooting suspect. A warrant for first-degree murder was issued for him on Sunday.
