DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -
Kings Local Schools will open the doors to the district's junior high Tuesday so students, parents and staff can meet with grief counselors after an 8th grader was killed in a weekend ATV crash.
Kaylyn Daumeyer, 13, died Saturday after the crash in Medina, about 30 miles outside of Cleveland.
Cuyahoga County investigators are still looking into the accident, which occurred on private property at a reunion.
Kings’ Superintendent Tim Ackerman issued a statement on the tragic accident.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Kaylyn’s parents, Paul and Lori, and brother Trey during this difficult time," he wrote. "This loss is sure to raise many emotions, concerns, and questions for the entire school, especially our students."
The crisis team will be at Kings Junior High, 5620 Columbia Rd., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The team also will be on hand when school starts Aug. 19.
