Butler Co. Coroner rules death in Middletown jail as suicide by hanging

MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) -

UPDATE: The Butler County Coroner ruled Tuesday that Michael Linton's death in the Middletown jail was a suicide by hanging.

A bank robbery suspect was found dead at the Middletown jail Monday.

The body of Michael Linton Jr. 35, of Middletown, was found alone in a jail cell about 3 p.m., jail officials said Tuesday.

He was booked into the jail last week on three counts of aggravated robbery, escape and vandalism. He is accused of holding up two supermarkets and a bank in the same strip Aug. 6.

Middletown Assistant Police Chief Mark Hoffman said suspicious activity is not suspected at this time.
