Graduation test looms for high school sophomores
High school sophomores have less than a month to study for the Ohio Graduation Test.
The 128-thousand students in this year's tenth-grade class are the first ones who have to pass the test in order to get their diplomas. Their first chance comes the week of March 14th.
The test has sections on reading, writing, math, science and social studies, with students taking one section each day. Students who don't pass the test as sophomores can try again during their junior and senior years.
Schools will be closely watching the results because the students' success rate could mean a difference in funding under the federal No Child Left Behind Act.
