HIGHLAND COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

Six people including four children were hurt in a crash four medical helicopters responded to Thursday.

The children and one adult suffered serious injuries when the driver of a 2006 Subaru Tribeca sport utility vehicle heading southbound on Beechwood Road ran a stop sign at the intersection of North Shore Drive and hit an oncoming 2006 Ford F-250 pickup truck just before 2 p.m., according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Both vehicles ran off the right side of the road. The driver of the SUV, Rebecca Williams, 33, of Peebles was taken by ambulance to Highland District Hospital and later flown to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, troopers said.

She is listed in stable condition.

The four children were flown to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. They were not properly secured in safety restraint seats, troopers said.

The pickup truck driver, Robert Brogan, 68, of Hillsboro suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at Highland District Hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Speed and alcohol and/or drugs are not factors.
