Teen charged with reckless homicide in friend's accidental shooting

SPRINGFIELD TWP, OH (FOX19) - A teenage faces a reckless homicide charge in the accidental shooting death of his 19-year-old friend this week.

Christopher Watley Jr., 18, is held in lieu of $75,000 bond at the Hamilton County jail.

He was booked in Thursday, one day after Springfield Township police say he killed Joshua Wilson.

Wilson, Watley and other friends were inside of Wilson's home on Woodland Ave. watching television when the shot was fired, authorities said and records show.

The gun went off, striking Wilson by accident, said officials.

Wilson died, and Watley was arrested based on a police investigation, "witness statements and suspect's admission," police wrote in court records.
