BATESVILLE, IN (FOX19) - Mayor Rick Fledderman designated elected City Council Member Eugene Lambert as acting executive of the City of Batesville Friday, stated officials.
Under Indiana law, Lambert will be acting as the City's executive under this designated authority for a period up to 15 days.
According to reports, this designation of executive authority will allow all city business to proceed uninterrupted during any absence of the Mayor.
Reports show this comes as there are current criminal accusations pending against Mayor Rick Fledderman.
Members of City Council are also consulting with legal counseling in a proactive effort if this becomes a long-term absence of the Mayor.
