Visitation arrangements were announced Tuesday for the Thomas More College student who died in an all-terrain vehicle accident.

A visitation for Mitchell Kramer, 21, will be Thursday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. at Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish in Alexandria.  Mass of Christian burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary.

Kramer was riding an ATV quad in the 100 block of Rifle Range Road when he collided with a tree, according to Campbell County Police. Crews unsuccessfully attempted to revive Kramer when they responded around 2:30 a.m. Monday.

Two other people who knew Kramer found him shortly after the crash but did not observe the accident, officials report.

Kramer, a junior student, studied biology and played football at Thomas More College. Monday was the first day of the fall semester.

"Mitch Kramer was a leader who embodied the spirit of Thomas More College. He was a dedicated friend, student and teammate and will always be a Saint," college President David A. Armstrong wrote in a letter to the Thomas More community. Armstrong said campus counselors, ministers and priests are available to meet with grieving students.

The 8 p.m. vigil will be at the Madonna statue outside the campus chapel.

The ATV accident remains under investigation by the Campbell County Police.
