DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Kings Island introduced plans for a new slide attraction inside 'Soak City' water park on Wednesday.
'Tropical Plunge' will will be a seven-story water slide system with six separate slide experiences, park officials announced at a press conference.
Three of the six slides on the 65-foot tall ride will start with guests inside an 'Aqua-Launch' chamber. The floor will drop out from underneath the riders' feet, sending them through a series of flat loops and S-curves, the park announced.
The fourth slide will send riders through an enclosed chute featuring four 360-degree loops across the 449-foot slide. Riders will be released into a pool of water.
The last available slides will be dueling 337-foot long tubers that will have a series of drops and turns.
"This will be a high-adrenaline attraction that will increase the thrill factor for our park guests," Kings Island's Vice President and General Manager Greg Scheid said. "They have been asking for new and more thrilling waterpark attractions they are able to enjoy with family members and we think this answers their feedback plus brings another element of fun to the overall experience of Kings Island."
The new attraction will expand Kings Island's waterpark to 35 acres.
Construction of Tropical Plunge is expected to begin this fall and will be ready by Memorial Day 2016, the amusement park said.
