CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - After injuring his right shoulder in Tuesday night's extra-inning loss to the Royals, Billy Hamilton has been placed on the 15-day disabled list. The Reds recalled outfielder Brennan Boesch from Triple-A Louisville with the loss of Hamilton
until at least early September.
The Reds also brought back veteran reliever Sam LeCure, who was cut near the end of spring training. LeCure was 5-4 with a 5.25 ERA in 41 appearance for Louisville this season. Retroactively, right-hander Dylan Axelrod was optioned and
right-hander Dylan Adcock has been placed on the 60-day disabled list. Adcock underwent ulnar collateral ligament replacement surgery in early August.
Hamilton currently leads the majors with 54 stolen bases and was batting .243 with 28 RBI before injuring his shoulder in extra-innings on Tuesday night. The Reds are 24 games out of first place in the NL Central heading into tonight's
series finale with the Royals.
