Two innocent bystanders were caught up in the crossfire of a shootout early Friday, Cincinnati police said.
It appears two gunmen - one in a green van on Reading Road and a second standing on Greenwood Avenue - fired at each other across Reading Road just after 1:30 a.m., said Lt. Tim Brown, the night chief.
Witnesses told investigators the weapons used in the offense sounded like automatic gunfire and as many as 15-20 shots were fired.
Three bullets hit a 54-year-old woman standing outside an apartment complex on Greenwood Avenue. She was shot in both legs.
A second innocent bystander, a 22-year-old man who was jogging down Reading Road, was shot in the left ankle.
Both were taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. They are expected to recover.
No arrests were made.
