California Braces For More Storms

With death toll climbing, California braces for more storms

Californians trying to recover from days of torrential rain are bracing for much more of the same today.

Forecasters say another strong storm is heading their way and could dump another inch of rain on the state and bring strong winds, as well. Already, more than eight inches of rain has fallen on Los Angeles since Thursday and that storm is being blamed for at least nine deaths in the region. The rainwaters have created sinkholes and sparked mudslides. They have also washed out parts of roads and one runway at a small airport. Officials say the storms this year have caused more than 52 million dollars damage to Los Angeles County roads and facilities.
