Driver turns himself in after he fled NKY crash, left truck door behind

INDEPENDENCE, KY (FOX19) -

A driver involved in a weekend hit-and-run crash left behind a large piece of evidence at the scene: The passenger door to a Chevy truck.

The man at the center of the Kenton County crash turned himself in Monday evening.

Kenton County Police asked the public to give them a call if anyone spots a heavily-damaged Silverado truck with a missing passenger door. The department posted a meme to Facebook Monday to get the message out.

“If you happen to be the owner of this truck, we would happily trade you this door (along with a citation recognizing your stellar driving) for your identification and your weekend whereabouts,” the post read.

Police said the hit-and-run crash happened in the 12000 block of Madison Pike just south of Independence.  Further details about the incident have not been released.

If you know anything about the crash, call Kenton County Police at 859-356-3191.
