Auschwitz criticized after installing showers near entrance

FOX19 -

The former Nazi concentration camp where one the greatest atrocities of World War Two played out is now a museum and is gaining criticism for a new installation that they thought would help combat the summer heat.

The museum reportedly installed mist showers near the death camp's entrance in order to help visitors who came during Poland's hottest days.

More than 1.1 million Jews were exterminated at the notorious concentration camp - most of the victims ushered into showers where they were gassed to death.

“Israel visitors to the museum could not ignore the connotation of showers being put in place at a site where more than a million Jews were murdered by the Nazis in gas chambers during the Holocaust,” Israel Hayom reported on Monday.
