WHITEWATER TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

A Whitewater Township woman has been found safe and the man who called 911 to report her missing has been charged with domestic violence and making false alarms.

Brenton Dudney, 40, called 911 Tuesday night at approximately 10:30 to report that his wife was missing, according to Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil. He told the dispatcher he had not seen Tara Keller since she left their home several hours earlier.

Dudney said Keller’s abandoned Jeep was found out of gas along Mount Hope Road, according to a 911 call released by the Hamilton County Communications Center.

Keller’s purse, cell phone and bags of groceries were inside the abandoned car, Sheriff Neil reports.

“I brought gas back to the vehicle and me and my friend are standing down here with cell phones trying to shine them in the weeds and hollering her name and she’s nowhere around. I’m just a little concerned,” Dudney says in the call.

Dudney referred to Keller as his wife, but at one point said the couple is not actually married. He told the dispatcher his wife had a drinking problem and that “there was a little bit of drama” that took place during the day.

Several Hamilton County Sheriff’s cruisers, a sheriff’s chopper and other law enforcement vehicles responded to a home on Mount Hope Road not far from where the vehicle was located Wednesday morning.

Through an investigation and questioning of witnesses the officials were able to locate Keller safely.  No word on where she was found.

Sheriff Neil said Dudney made misleading statements to investigators that led their office to consider Keller a missing person.

Dudney was taken into custody at around 3 p.m. and has been charged with domestic violence and making false alarms, officials said.

His bond was set at $35,000.
