OVER THE RHINE, OH (FOX19) -

A 17-year-old boy is expected to recover after he was shot on Vine Street near Republic Street Thursday night, Cincinnati police said.

The victim told police he was standing in the street when someone he knew shot at him three times about 8:15 p.m., said Lt. Tim Brown, the  night chief.

The teen was hit once and taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

He has since changed his story and insisted to police he does not know his assailant, Brown said.

An investigation continues.
